Marlena

Hello, my name is Marlena and it is a privilege to be the 2010-2011 District 9 Kings County Dairy Princess. My family has been involved in the dairy industry for over 70 years and I grew up on our Holstein dairy farm, Macy-L Holsteins. I showed dairy heifers for three years through 4-H, which made me feel like a part of the operation and I loved every minute of it. I am currently a senior at Hanford High School where I am proud to be the Hanford FFA President. I am also involved in other school and community organizations. It is an honor to be representing the hardworking men and women of Kings County and California’s dairy industry at large. As Dairy Princess it is my duty to educate the public on why milk is so nutritious and the advantages of buying locally. I plan to reach out to children, teens, and adults to teach them the benefits of milk and other dairy products. I will use my passion and knowledge of the dairy industry throughout my reign to promote the Real California Milk and Cheese seals.
