My name is Katherine Nissen and I am serving a second year as your District 5 Dairy Princess. I cover San Joaquin, Sacramento, Yolo, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Amador and Alpine counties. I live and work on my parent’s dairy farm in Escalon, California and love it! We are a smaller dairy only milking about 550 cows, so about half of them have names. I am currently attending Modesto Junior College majoring in Dairy Science as well as California State University Stanislaus majoring in Ag Studies. One of my biggest hobbies is fitting and showing my dairy cattle. I have been doing this for about 6 years now since I was hooked as a freshman in FFA.
