This adaptable dairy dressing is a breeze to make and very versatile. While delicious by itself, what makes it truly "magic" is the ease with which it can be transformed with the addition of a few flavorful ingredients. Following are two variations, but feel free to improvise on your own. Serve as a dip or use as a sauce or dressing on meats, fish, vegetables, salads and fruit. It is also a tasty sandwich spread and makes a great marinade.Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smooth, 1-2 minutes. Store refrigerated in a tightly closed container for up to one week.Note: Substitute plain low-fat yogurt if preferred.
Variations:
Turkish Honey Mint In a small bowl, combine
1 cup Magic Dressing,
2 Tablespoon honey and
1 Tablespoon chopped mint.Mix well. Store refrigerated in a covered container for up to one week.
California Asian Place1/2 cup Magic Dressing,
1/4 cup light miso,
1/4 cup honey,
1 teaspoon soy sauce,
1 teaspoon sesame oil,
1/2 teaspoon chopped gingerin a food processor or blender and process until smooth, or chop the ginger fine and mix all ingredients together by hand. Store refrigerated in a covered container for up to one week.Note: Miso is available at specialty stores and Asian markets.
