The month of March was a very busy month for me.

The month of March was a very busy month for me. It started out with the Read Across America Program at Pioneer School where I read books to two different classrooms and took pictures with the students. I also participated in "Farm Day" at the fairgrounds and made several presentations to thirdgraders from all around Kings County. On March 13th, I was invited to speak to 170 children about the importance of dairy products in a person's diet at the "Kids in the Kitchen" event in West Fresno sponsored by the Fresno Junior League. This particular event really showed me how the Dairy Princess Program can have a significant impact on the consumer. The students did not know where milk came from and what were considered dairy products.  I was surprised to find out that some of the children thought that sugar and cereal are dairy products. On this day, I actually made a difference in the lives of these children by making my presentation.

I spoke to three primary school classes and five elementary school classes about dairy products and the dairy industry during Career Day at the Island School and addressed around 500 dairymen and related industry members at the Kings County DHIA Annual Dinner. I also was asked to make trophy presentations. And just this morning, I served as one of the judges for the Kings County Dairywomen's Poster Contest.

Best wishes for a beautiful spring,

District 9 Kings County Dairy Princess
