I hope that each of you are well and that the weather in your area sunny.

Everything is great here in District 1 Ferndale/Fortuna. The two Alternate Dairy Princesses and I are getting together to prepare for our upcoming school presentations.  I promise to let you know how our school visits were received.

Recently, I attended FFA's Sacramento Leadership Experience.  This is a prestigious conference where 40 FFA members are selected to be mock senators for four days at the state capitol.  We each had mock legislation to pass.  We discussed our bills in the committee rooms and debated on the California Senate floor.  It was an amazing experience. This leadership program gave me an immense amount of information about the legislative process.  I am now considering a career as an agriculture lobbyist one day.

My senior year has been busy as ever.  Currently, I am coordinating a charity event called March for Haiti with Ferndale High School and Elementary Student Councils in Humboldt on March 28th.  We would to invite anyone who would like to help the doctors in "Humboldt Helps Haiti" join us in our "march."

My reign will be concluding in May and it has been fun serving District 1. I will keep you posted on my activities in the next two months before I pass my crown to the next young lady who will represent District 1.
