District 9 Kings County Dairy Princess is definitely an honor.

This summer has already been an amazing experience. Serving as the District 9 Kings County Dairy Princess is definitely an honor. To kick off my reign, I was able to hand out ribbons at the Kings County Fair Dairy Show. It was quite different wearing a dress and heels in the show ring rather than my white wranglers and cowboy boots, which I would normally wear when showing my cows. I loved every minute of it.

Another event that I attended was the Health Fair in Hanford. I handed out bags full of Real California Milk pencils, rulers, coloring books, recipes, and pens to children of all ages. I also answered informational questions about life on the dairy.

Another fun event that I attended was the Education and Agriculture Foundation Program. This program enables teachers from all over the state of California to visit the small agricultural town of Hanford for a week and learn about the country life. The first day is dairy day. I was able to give a presentation on what a dairy princess is and exactly what my role is to this community. The teachers were a great audience and they couldn’t believe that calves were born every day on the dairy! These were just a few events that I have had the opportunity to attend this summer. I cannot wait for in class presentations to start this fall!
