District 8 covers Fresno and Madera counties in California

My name is Kelsey Blagg and I am the District 8 Dairy Princess. District 8 covers Fresno and Madera counties in California. I currently attend CSU Fresno and major in Dairy Science and Ag Business and am a student employee at the CSU Fresno Dairy. I am proud to have been selected as the District 8 Dairy Princess since this is the first year of the return of a District 8 Dairy Princess in 25 years. I learned about the District 8 contest from Callie Martin, the District 8 Princess coordinator. At first I was hesitant to run for Dairy Princess since I am not originally from Fresno County but I am very passionate about the dairy industry and want to promote the dairy industry in Fresno and Madera counties.

I had a wonderful experience with all of the other Dairy Princesses at Training Week and am looking forward to the CA State Fair. I am confident that the my reign as Dairy Princess will open new opportunities for me in the next year and I welcome the opportunity to speak to people all over the state about the importance of the dairy industry.
